Here's a real oddity - a 1940 Soviet design for a 450mm howitzer:

Yes, I know it's not a Great War subject (which is why I thought it best to post this in Miscellaneous), but it seems such a throwback even by 1940 standards that I thought it might be of interest.

Certainly looks like something from the height of the previous war. I see some other of the material in that page tankarchives is watermarked ЦАМО РФ - TsAMO RF, the Central Archive of the Russian Ministry of Defence. I wonder what else there may be at that source?
