Detail fotos of Little Willie
Permalink

Hello all,

I am planing a 1/10 rc-buildt of this great "Little Willie" vehicle, so I am looking around for all kind of detail fotos. If there is anybody who like to share their pictures with me,

I would be very pleased. It should be no pics from the web, I think I have them all , I thought about private pics from Bovington tank museum. Of course I will report this buildt here in this forum.

Best regards,

Volker

I did an extensive search if the Internet (while designing my Little Willie model)
and managed to find most if not all of the available photos and information regarding the Tank.
I am a member at many many forums now! lol.

In fact, I keep finding stuff to this day.
Not sure if I would have anything you don't already have, but I can check if you give me specific areas of interest.
I might be able to help with some diagrams (based on the information I have)

I acquired quite a few photos from the Tank Museum and from Chris Gresham (Lincoln Tanker).
My contact at Bovington supplied me with some interior photos and asked that I not redistribute them.
Posting the odd photo (on this forum) with obvious credits to the owner is one thing, but redistributing entire collections is another.
I would need Chris' permission before I can share a folder of his photos.

Have you searched online photo galleries...like Flikr.com?
I do this all the time.
You can search through the public photo albums on sites like Flikr simply by entering search terms.
But to really find stuff, you sometimes have to be creative with your search terms.
You can find a lot of nice quality photos, many of which are downloadable.

Sometimes photos are protected from saving or downloading.
But you can still zoom in on specific areas of interest and use "screen grab" ("print screen")
to save a screen image...although you need a graphics program to crop and save a final image.
Just don't repost or redistribute the images you create...keep them for private reference only.

Heres a few quick search results just using "little + willie":
A collection of Bovington Museum photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/shmr/sets/72157631372413112
Another collection of Bovington Museum photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/massimofoti/sets/72157626270470716
And one more: https://www.flickr.com/photos/28456833@N00/sets/72157632967344285

I apologize if all this is not helpful.

Well Chris C has not replied to my email as of yet.

I know he did have an online album that he has shared with a couple of people.

Volker, I will send you my folder of reference photos to use in your RC build.
I will ask that you do not post any of the images anywhere and do not share the files with anyone else.
Much of the stuff was acquired from Internet searches, some photos from the Bovington Museum and many from Chris Gresham.
(I think all his photos are watermarked)

Since I do not own these photos, I am not in the habit of redistributing them
but I don't think I have anything that has not already been seen or is impossible to acquire honestly.

I'm posting this here so there are plenty of witnesses.
if we start seeing these photos used anywhere else, we will know where they came from!
lol we will come to your house and disrupt your rose bushes!!

I have been told by Bovington that they have a few interior shots that can be ordered/purchased,
they provided me with a contact sheet of the available photos,
but to be honest theres not much more to see.
They do have a nice photo of the front/drivers area showing seats, controls...but thats about the only worthwhile image.

Chris G already has a set of interior photos that cover the layout nicely.

One note...I was warned by the Museum that the only surviving components of the interior (the differential and transfer case)
are mounted on the frame but not in the correct positions.

Hi Dave,
thank you very much for your effort. I will swear by my rose bushes, that I will use your photo material only for my RC buildt.

By the way, next time I will share some of my owen photos of a Mark IV (Brussels) and a FT17 (Koblenz) A7V (Munster) to the forum...

Regards,
Volker
