Hi All,

Lots of new material on the First World on the Imperial War Museum web site. :)

Anyhow, looking at one of the films I was surprised at the end of one to see a MK1 Recovery Tank. Now I've seen one with a magnetic grab for mines, but not one in France before.

At first I wasn't sure as I couldn't make out the track adjusters clearly enough. The cut out for the sponsons was right, but it had a proper exhaust stem on the roof. The though a crew member walks on the roof and pops open a 'Round' roof hatch! :) Look right at the end 13:47

Just thought it might make an interesting model for someone.

Although it is great that all these old film clips are finally seeing the light of day, yes, it would be great if they could put them in order. :)

Yes, it is fascinating to see these clips. Momentarily, I was mesmerised by mirror-image Whippets performing lively manoeuvres for the camera. And it is very obliging of the crew member of the Mk1 recovery tank to open the hatch at that precise moment, and confirm the identification. I do hope that a frame by frame restoration of the film is possible to enable more detail to be seen.smile
