Heavy artillery : the 145 mod 16 from Blitz (1/35)

Hello!

My last work completed in the WW1 range, and I was very happy because I like those heavy guns and, until recently, it was very hard to found anything good. now there are both Des and Blitz (mostly french ones) and Resicast (British subjects). If Takom follow the path open with the Austrian mortar and turn on german subjects it will be some kind of heaven!

The model is rather easy to built with an impressive "one piece" carriage :

I just add few improvement on the basic model :

I painted the model using my usual "Games Workshop" acrylics, to depict a gun deployed during the last allied offensives in the late 1918 summer, not very damaged but rather dusty, due to the fire blasts!

Well, the next ones will be the Takom's MarkIV and the Blitz EG...

What a wonderful time for WW1 modelers!

Regards

Very good. Glad to see you've not weathered it so much, that it looks as if it was left in a field for 20 years!

Agree with this sentiment. Many of the manuals of artillery pieces of the time have detailed instructions for the care and maintenance of the guns.

This required regular cleaning even in the field - heavily weathered artillery pieces exist only in the minds of modellers.

Regards,

Charlie
