New WW1 dismounted Chasseurs and Dragoons 1914-1915
These dismounted troopers are operating a St Etienne machine gun as well as firing carbines and in other moving poses. These is an officer in each set. The Dragoons officer is holding a map and giving directions. The chasseurs officer is using his binoculars.
These are designed to go with our cavalry figures and also the Machine gun carts in our ranges. The Chasseurs machine gun cart will be added shortly. There are 9 figures in each pack, plus a machine gun and other accessories like ammo box’s. These cost £7.50 each.
This is the Dragoons Machine gun cart. The MG can be dismounted or fired from the cart once the horses have been unhitched. Operating in “batteries” at this time, 2 guns to a battery. Use them like field artillery.
If 20 mm is 1/72 scale than a real human would have 1.44 cm height! :P
Kamil, it is measured from foot to eye (otherwise it would be difficult to determine where under the headgear the head ends, or at least that is the thinking behind this). 1,44 m to the eye is not too small for a 1914 man.
About the figures, it is good to see those made in this scale, a welcome - and colourful - change from the usual infantry sets. From the pictures there are elements well done like the headgear and the machine gun crew poses, and less convincing ones like the right arms of the rifle shooting poses. This style of carving the detail into the figure instead of rising it is unusual, must give them a try to see how they look painted.
Pat, if you will add some 8 cm of forehead to 1,44 cm you will get 1,52 cm. I dont think that many men where so small. You can compare mens height to Mauser rifles on photographs.
