On PSR this afternoon.

New Revell super sets?
Dealers are starting to mention two new Revell products due for release soon. They are:

  • RV2450 - Battle of Waterloo 200th Anniversary
  • RC2451 - WWI German, British and French

Presumably these will be combinations of previous figure sets, with the Waterloo box likely to contain British Lifeguards, Prussian infantry and French Imperial Guard infantry. The clunky title of the WWI set makes us wonder where they will get the British, which they have not made themselves. No indication as yet of any new figures, but we will keep an eye on these and report back if there is anything new on offer.

I never got my hands on the French set so that should be interesting. I hope they have solved the flash problem with the German figures (probably the best WW1set until the flash problem!). As for the British lets hopes its not the Emhar figures as they are very dated. Lets hope its not another let down after the Airfix farce.

Wondering about the British as well. The Emhar set is not so bad, just a lack of poses, one figure too small and a mortar not well detailed (I converted some mortar men into loaders for the Vickers).

About Revell's recent re-issues, the flash is one problem but the other is the plastic used. It seems recycled or anyway substandard material, which makes it easy e. g. to tell the Revell re-issues from the original Matchbox figures.

Here's hops. Regards, Pat
