I am currently working on a complete survey of the Mark IV Female at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, now known to be 2743. My first task is to completely describe the tank as it was at the Tank Museum at Bovington before it went to Lincoln in September 1983. To do this I need as many photographs of it when it was at Bovington as possible.
Areas that are not well shown in photographs I currently have are:
the hull front, particularly the glacis plate, inner horns and cab front - I particularly need a photo of the port side doubling plate;
the inner rear horns;
the exterior of the starboard sponson; (Close-ups needed of suspected corrosion damage to the upper sides of the sponson, and the front corner.)
the roof, especially looking forwards to show the rear of the cab and the holes for the exhaust;
damage to the third armoured plate from the front on the starboard side;
damage to the first and fourth armoured plate from the front on the port side;
the pistol ports forward of the doors beneath the sponsons on both sides;
internal photos of the cab;
the internal face of the rear door;
But really, any photo of the tank at Bovington would be helpful. Please note I do NOT want photos of this tank at Lincoln.
If anyone's able to help, would they please contact me by PM? Or post any photos to this thread?
Oh - and if you know when they were taken that would be very helpful to know!
Many thanks
Gwyn
