Rolls-Royce armoured cars in India

I've had a request from Landships II about the colour of RR armoured cars in India in the 1920s. Black and white images seem to indicate a fairly

pale colour. Anyone know?

Regards,

Charlie

The Osprey book on the RR armored car states some RR armored cars in India were painted white or a silver/grey to reflect the heat.

Silver grey is an interesting colour. I wonder if it may not be metallic at all but the pale greenish grey of tarnished silver. This is certainly the case in the WW2 Caunter Scheme (diagonal disruptive painting in the Western Desert).

Reference is Mike Starmer's book on the subject, of course.

PS 'Certainly' is perhaps too strong - I would need to find the book and check it. The paint in the Caunter Scheme was called silver grey though.

Would Stone or Light Stone not have been more effective as a camouflage colour for the Indian Sub Continent?
