Silver grey is an interesting colour. I wonder if it may not be metallic at all but the pale greenish grey of tarnished silver. This is certainly the case in the WW2 Caunter Scheme (diagonal disruptive painting in the Western Desert).
Reference is Mike Starmer's book on the subject, of course.
PS 'Certainly' is perhaps too strong - I would need to find the book and check it. The paint in the Caunter Scheme was called silver grey though.
