There is a fairly well known postcard from WW1 entitled "A British heavy gun in action" (attached).
By chance I found the images the postcard is based on in the Gallica archive - there were 3 images of the Mark VII gun and crew
(also attached).

Charlie, ditto the above comments. The clarity is great....not that you would want to but you could almost imagine stepping into the image as they say!! Thanks Rod
The images, are, of necessity, reduced to 1/3 size for the forum. If anyone wants the full sized images and doesn't want to flounder around in Gallica
