Any love for WW1 artillery?

Hi, please excuse me if this isn't the right place for this, I'm a bit out of touch with forum ettiquete these days.

I'm a freelance designer and have completed a range of kits for the British 13 and 18pdr guns with attached carriage limbers, as well as a common artillery limber/wagon combo to suit both. I'm trying to find a manufacturer to buy the designs, and was wondering what sort of response the modelling world would have?

All kits are modelled for 1/35 scale injection moulded plastic, with a bit of photoetch thrown in to keep it interesting.

Cheers for any help you could give!

Speaking personally, If you could also scale these down to 1/72nd or 1/76th, I think you'd get two bites of the cherry.

Have you tried to contact model companies direct with your designs?

There is already an 18pdr and limbers available in 1/76 from WD Models and both 13 and 18 pdr and limber in 1/32 from Tommy's War.

Keep us posted if you get any takers. I would certainly be interested in 1/35 scale.

Very impressive work!

If you're looking for ideas of producers to approach, two possibilities immediately spring to mind:

- Takom (China), who seem to be pursuing a range of 1/35 WW1 artillery (Krupp 21cm Moerser is out, and the 42cm 'Big Bertha' is due sometime in the near future)

- Miniart (Kiev, Ukraine), who announced a couple of months ago that they're planning a range of 1/35 WW1 kits. No idea what is to be released, or when, however...

You might like to give one or both of them a try. Best of luck, I hope you find a taker - I'd be more than happy to to buy these kits!

Best regards

Your work is amazing and I hope you will find a producer for them.
I also suggest Takom or Miniart.
Since I am a CAD professional user so I'd like to know which CAD program do you use for such beautiful work.
Thanks

Germany had an 88mm antiaircraft cannon during WW1, though it had far less impact on that war than did their 8mm Flak series of WW2.

Of course there is Germany's 77mm cannon, which was much more useful.

Cheers all - thanks for the advice! Will definitely try Takom and Miniart. I've contacted a few companies already, but no luck so far.

I'm trying to stick to 1/35 for now for the detail, you lose so much going down to 1/72-1/76, though I do know a few war gamers who want me to try. I was also thinking about upscaling to 1/24 or 1/16 for some kits, mainly due to the size of the finished model. That said, given that these are small(ish) guns, they are aimed at dioramas and figure sculpters.

The current kit I'm working on is a French 75mm mle 1897, but I have plans for the German 77mm. I would like to try the 105mm Krupp gun further down the track as well.

The program I'm using is Solidworks 2010. I'd like to upgrade, but I find their new rendering engine a bit clunky compared to Photoworks.

Thanks again!

Eureka Man, Ukrainian company Master Box makes scale models on the theme of the WWI. Write them a letter.

I prefer to work with plastic kits Mike, but WD Models are good small scale kits.
