On the instruction you have to install the armoured plates around the tail lifting actuator on the back plate (part T 27) there is a part that looks light a tail light ( part T 15)
I am going for C 19 Clan Leslie which according to the photographs did not have the armoued plates
where do I have to put the tailight in this case ?
The position of the Rear Tail Light is a bit of a mystery. I know where it was intended to go, but can also say it was never fitted there. The Bovington Museum's surviving MK1 may have the solution but I am yet to find a clear period photo to confirm that this is not just a one off field or museum adaptation.
Bovington's MK1 has a Light Bracket bolted on to the side of the metal plates that hold the Ram in place. I have attached some photos and I would say it is as good a place to fit it as any. It does kind of make sense there as it is close to where it would be with ram shield in place.
If anyone has a good clear period photo of this area then can they post it here or email me please.

Brilliant! That will do me, as there is nothing else I know of in that position. Ok it's not clear so we can only really say 80% sure, but that is pretty good when you're looking a hundred years into the past.
Like you say, now we know where to look more evidence will appear.
Hi Carmen, As far as I know the wiring for the tail light passes through this small hole next to the rear hatch. I believe it is the same for the later MKIVs.
