Schneider CA Markings - Second Battle of the Marne

I'm wondering if someone might be able to advise which unit carried a Diamond as a marking on their Schneider CA-1 Tanks during Second Battle of the Marne. I have seen these sort of vehicles with a Heart on them, but not a Diamond.

 

Background is I recently purchased a number of photos including one of three knocked out Schneider CA-1's which came from a US Family, with the words "French Tank (Reims) Juvincourt on the rear. Tank has taken a larger caliber artillery hit and seems to have burnt, the other two are harder to tell. I'm hoping I can caption the photo correctly with any information you can provide.

The playing card markings indicated which battery/section the tank belonged to. The suit of the ace was painted in black on a white 15cm circle.

The encoding was - Spade (1st), Heart (2nd), Diamond (3rd) and Club (Reserve).

Thank you for the information. Based on what I read within the article then this tank would be a Group 4 tank, no other markings are visible (although I'll see if I can bring any further detail out in the photo - a small version is attached for viewing)

Bonjour,

Your photo is a Schneider M1 destroyed in Juvincourt in 1917.

Groupe AS 2 Schneider M1 AsCa4 n° 61168 - Tank commander S/Lt de Bénazé.

This Schneider M1 was never used in 1918, during second battle of the Marne

For this destroy Scheider, inside Goupe AS 2, and in 1917, as of club was 4th Battery . . . . 

 

During Second battle of the Marne the choice of markings for a Schneider is very difficult,

in July 1918, most ot the tank was fighting without ace markings.

 - Grpt AS n° III (AS 1 - AS 6 - AS 15) with 153° French ID 

 - Grpt AS n° I (AS 2 - AS 4 - AS 5 - AS 9) with american 2nd ID

 - Grpt AS n° IV (AS 12 - AS 13 - AS 14 - AS 17) with French Division Marocaine and 87° ID

Perhaps, if you have an other photo (than this one . . . .) really good  for Second Marne battle

Bonjour, and thank you for the complete photo.

These tanks was already there in 1919. . . . .

It's probably a photo, done by an american soldier, visiting the battlefield.

 

The rear tank is n° 61032 (AsCo3) from S/Lt de la Chesnais

In the middle, n° 61029 (AsCo1) from Lt Poupel.

These two other Schneider M1 was from the 2nd Battery, and always from Groupe AS 2
