Whilst doing some browsing recently I came across the following website. http://www.franconiphotos.eu/en/news/ortigara-story-of-rocks-and-lifes/ 

It has an interesting narrative to it as well as some photos' within the highlighted links that would inspire figure dioramas and vignettes
