Just wondering how many modellers would go for larger scale models like 1:16. I my self usually like 1:35 but as I get older the larger scale models like the 1:16 Takom FT tanks are a joy to work on and I wish they would make the Mk 1 -5 series of British tank including other WW 1 models. The last straw that finally finished me on 1:35 scale models was a FT model that I couldn't finish in the end. The bits were too small. I know modellers like 1:72 scale and they are easier to display because of their small size and are simpler in construction but you have to be good with the brush art work and nothing beats the impressive size of a large scale model. Would modellers go for a 1:16 WW 1 British tank. I have emailed Takom to see if they have anything on the horizon but nothing to date, only they may consider if 1:16 fans told them so. What do you think? Any other model companies thinking along the same lines.
If everyone on this forum and other 1:16 WW 1 model tank fans emailed Takom or any other model company and their Facebook pages for a Mk 1-5 1:16 tank then I am sure they would seriously consider. I think the only opportunity would be now with the centenary celebrations taking place, I have, only need more modelers for Takom to take the next step, after all they already have details in 1:35, only need to up size.
I was hopeful about the long awaited 1:15 version but I think by the time it's done it will be the 200 year centenary of WW 1. Better to spend the time you spent comunicating to the other guy, to a company like Takom who has made wonderful models such as the FT range and who has produced excellent WW 1 tanks in 1:35 but just needs to double the size.
Easy to do, click on Takoms contacts page and request and complement their models, they do reply, which is better than most companies I have dealt with, balls in your court, make it happen.
I had some mail contact with him ( also years ago) in which he told me that it was still in the planning ....(but that there were other priorities0

There are also some very nice 120 mm WW1 British figures and equipment on the website
Although this is a recent announcement, this kit was first out at least ten years (probably more) ago, it was heavily promoted at Euro Militaire one year. It's a nice kit, basically large sheets of etched-brass, with some white-metal parts (it was before resin parts were so common). From memory there were parts for both male and female versions, I don't recall if there was an interior or if it was an option. It was priced at around £200 from memory, which was a lot at the time (I suppose it's still a lot now really).
Not finished, only part way though, the soldering takes a lot of time and patience, some mod's need to be done to make it more rigid.
As for being accurate, it's not bad!!
Quite a interesting response looks like a 1:16 scale Mk1-5 tank would be quite favourable but did anyone let Takom know with an email or even tell them on their Facebook page, the more the merrier with the probably that it will be made.
Like I need one...I haven't built any of the new 1/35 scale tanks I have, but YES! Let's have it! What scale was that old Verlinden resin kit? Wasn't is 1/15? Hmmm...
Tamiya and Takom etc will only know of their customers dreams and desires if you tell them so. They can't guess or mind read. Like I said the more emails letters they get from their customers the chances are that they will consider otherwise they will turn out strange kits that you wonder why what they were thinking off like a Saudi Arabian military modified American commercial truck that has no historical interest or a model kit that has been done over a thousand times by other companies like another Tiger tank, how many Tiger tanks do you want. Remember now is the 100 years WW 1 celebrations and the only time and excuse company's will make WW 1 kits. Send a e-mail it doesn't hurt. Make you dreams come true.
