Hello Adam,

I have a book (Track prints by Richard Pullen) and this photo is on page 44. It is also in the archive of the IWM but I cannot find it on there now, a copy (with the IWM mark) is attached.

The writer of the mentioned book is not sure about the location. He states that "it could be Bovington Camp or more likely The Tank Corps Central Workshops at Erin France....."

In another book I have the picture that is placed under this text. I think it is the same location. This little book is "First World War Tanks" by Bartholomew. The writer states that this picture that it was taken at Rollencourt Tankodrome in France.

Rollencourt fuel supply.jpg528.jpg

So, it is a puzzle ....... Rollencourt, Bovington, Erin or .......

Best regards,

Willem

There are some interesting points about this pic.

It looks like a training place in the UK to me

At last 3 or 4 markI/II with a lot of Mark IV as far as it is possible to see the external fuel tank and four digit serial number (I read 2698 on the second tank), but it is interesting to notice there is no unditching beam rails at all...

Couldn't some of them be MarkIII?
