Strelets show these new master figures:

I would very much like to hear your opinions on the following:

Would a fez be worn in combat in WW1? I think not.

Would the different headgears be worn within the same unit?

Did the Ottoman infantry use that many small ammo pouches all round the body? They reimind me of the Airfix WW1 U.S. Infantry set.

Do the sword bayonets look realistic?

Which type of rifle did the sculptor try to reproduce?

Which type of macine gun is this? A captured Vickers?

Thank you in advance. Regards, Pat

A fez? Yes, most certainly.

Machine gun, looks like a Vickers, probably an MG08 would have been a better gun to use?

Pouches? Well, this chap's got a few!

The corrugated water cover on the machine gun does make it look like a Vickers. But a tripod is correct for the Ottoman MG09 machine gun which fired the 7.65mm "Argentinian" round. The MG09 being an export version of the MG08.

Cheers,
Chris

This seems to contradict the corrugated jacket:

but I've read that some Vickers were used.

Pzkfw-e, I'm afraid I cannot access the images as the links are broken?

James, I think we all mean the same thing:

The Strelets MG has a corrugated barrel, which makes it look like a Vickers, and that makes it a non-standard gun in the Ottoman inventory.
