New Mephisto Photo and Clues?

Might not be new at all, but I don't recall it. According to the caption, this was taken at Poulainville, which is the neighbouring commune to Vaux-en-Amienois, maybe so close that the distinction isn't made. Acc to reliable accounts, Mephisto went from Vaux to Merlimont. Currey says Mephisto went to Poulainville "on the coast", which it isn't; Merlimont is.

Points to ponder in the photo: British (?) tanker in overalls; chain through gun ports (for towing?); and what is on the extreme right? Are  those the tracks of a Gun Carrier?

The photo, btw, is from the archives at Toulouse, the collection of Raoul Berthelé, army meteorologist and amateur photographer.

Rainer Strasheim, in the Tankograd book, says Mephisto went from Vaux-en-Amienois to Poulainville then, in early October 1918, to Merlimont.

The tracks of a Gun Carrier are about the only good fit for the part exposed in the photo.

Charlie

The location seen in the above picture - with cord around the tank and trees on one side, but open ground on the other - is explicitly given as Poulainville. But Vaux and P'ville are rather close to each other. One might say that 506 was hauled off to the tank training ground at Vaux-en-Amienois and right there parked close to P'ville.
