Now this is interesting. In WW1 the Germans did not know what to call the tank. (Mark II Male tank with spuds/spades on the tracks to improve grip). Is the identity of this captured tank known? There seems to be a lot of photographs of it on the internet. on the right side is number 799. - Cancel I have just found the answer. 11 Apr 1917 – "D" Battalion, 12 Company, D26, Lt Davies - Attached to V Corps, attacked, destroyed by shell.
