In addition, Thunder Models recently said on Facebook:
“Our upcoming release <1/35 British 7.2in howitzer> scheduled for late March roughly, it comes with a small bunch of accessories and ammo, later on we will also offer earlier WWI variant of this howitzer”, but apparently they’ve not yet decided whether to release it as a Mk.VI or VIII

Nice. Bring on more like this. Foster-Daimler Artillery Tractor? Traction engines? A7V and Schneider load carriers. etc etc. I wonder if Resicast will cash in by releasing an upgrade set using parts of their kit? This kit by Roden is bound to pull the rug from under their sales.
Thunder have announced a Caterpillar Sixty but I believe that's several years post-war.
The great war forum is where there is mention of 80 Holt tractors being used by the Russians and a picture of one captured by the Germans at Minsk.
From the Book " Diary of General Vladimir Mikihailovich Bezorazov Commander of the Russian Imperial guard 1914-1917":
26 Feb/11 mar 1915 "New tractor drawn 6 inch field guns of the Schneider type with a range of 12 versts have arrived." These are most likely 152mm Putilov M10 field guns. This site mentions them as being towed by Allis-Chalmers tractors.
Currently building the Roden Holt, very nice so far , check out their website for updated instruction PDF as there are a few things wrong with the one in the box.
The parts need a bit of clean up, but hey its a Holt in plastic.
Just need a nice Gun for it to pull now, so will wait out for Thunder models WW1 gun.
I had a first look at the kit. Overall it seems to be nice, but it has some large sink marks, most notably on the roof. But nothing you can not fix. A second point which should be adressed is the suspension, which seems to be molded in unloaded state. This means that the track laying on the support rollers is in line with the top of the drive wheel, and goes down to the idler wheel. On all pictures I could find, the support rollers should be on the same level as the idler wheel, and the track would then rise towars the drive wheel. Shortening the springs (parts 21D) by a millimetre or two should fix this issue.
I hope that I can start to actually build the kit soon.
For now I haven't this kit but I found this post by JJ Marshallsay on Accuracy in Scale Modelling (AISM) face book page www.facebook.com/photo.php
"Roden's 1:35 Holt 75 artillery tractor. For a brand new release, it's shocking. The mold lines are excessive as is the flash. When looking at the instructions, some of the numbers don't match up with the numbers on the sprue, some parts aren't even in the instructions. You have to guess by looking at the next drawings to figure it out and the fit quality is awful. As for the tracks, what a nightmare and the less said about the front wheel the better. It was only 44 years experience in model making that for me through it. Still, got it completed and I'm reasonably happy with the results."
Looking at his pictures it looks like he built the kit OOTB waiting for a "Tamiya quality" fit but finding an "old school" model. In my opinion he is too much pessimist. The kit needs (may be lot of) some works but nothing a normal skilled modeller could do.
Its fine for me paid just over £30 for this , i found it goes together well if you dry fit , and clean up. I have built the Resicast Holt and it is amazing but the price is a wee bit different.(used in my profile pic). I am also working on a 1/32 traction engine.

Perhaps Mr. Marshall would prefer one of these? https://ccmodels.com/model-announcement-holt-75-tractor-8/
Does your roof part (for the corrugated sheet metal) also have severe sink marks along the middle? I already applied 3 layers off liquid green stuff and the holes are still visible.
I am 2 or 3 steps through the build, but that really cost me a lot of putty already! Filling all the sinkmarks and covering the wide seam lines is a pain!
Thorst , You’re right concerning the roof ... A lot of sink holes in the middle of the roof. but I already decided to replace this part with corrugated sheet ...
But I found a much bigger problem .......
In the kit I have there are two A sprues and zero C sprue 🤨 This will be a problem to complete the Model .......
I hope Roden has a good customer support

Yes, I know, but what has that to do with my link that was coppied?
My link refers to the Roden model and Passionmodels and that model is still available and for less.....
I do not understand.....

Muggins here clicked on the wrong post to reply to!
looks like there is a lot of filler needed to make this one looking good.
The tracks seem to be ok ... Not looking for aftermarket ones?
