Vallejo's New Spray Paints
Permalink

I failed to finish anything in time for World War One, but I have two ideas in mind: a Russian Civil War tank and a Whippet in Ireland, sent there for the one-year anniversary of the end of the Great War (ostensibly).

But the paint I mentioned is UK Bronze Green.  Meant for World War Two presumably, but if I read correctly, British started out with green but had to move to brown temporarily due to lack of appropriate pigments, then moved near the end back to a green similar to US olive drab.  Anybody know more about this?

When you say "started out with green", do you mean the start of WW2, or WW1?

If you mean WW2, then Mike Starmer and Mike Cooper are the ones you should seek. They're easy to find.

If you mean WW1, then, no, they didn't start with green.

If you mean for the Whippet in Ireland then Bronze Green is almost certainly wrong. Again, Starmer is the 'go to guy' for interwar British armour.
