As many of you may know, the US National Archives (NARA) has digitized its collection of World War I British Photographs, known as Record Group 165-BO, and made it available online. The collection contains about 1,900 images “acquired by the War Department depicting the military activities and personnel of several nations during World War I, 1914-1918.”You can access the images here - https://catalog.archives.gov/id/533104
Each image is mounted on data card with caption and has a file size of approximately 6 MB. I have uploaded four low resolution examples. The entire collection is 18 GB.Unfortunately, searching the collection online and downloading the images is time consuming and somewhat frustrating because the search engine for NARA’s online catalog is clunky. For that reason, I recently downloaded all the images at NARA and am offering them for free to anyone who wants them and will send the images via WeTransfer.com. Because the collection’s file size is so large I have divided it into three groups, each of about 6 GBs.Thus, three transfers are needed to send the entire collection.
