Tank plans from Bovington?

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody has tried to order copies of original tank plans from Bovington recently? I had always intended to order plans for the Mk. IV tanks...I seem to remember "Plan Packs" being offered on their website at one time, but are no longer listed.

The only old post I found mentioning plans from Bovington said to contact David Fletcher... who has since retired.

Any advice?

Thank you.

Try their "contact us" page it covers enquiries involving the Archive and Library so likely your best bet...

The old tank plans were not much use for detailed model making.  Obviously made up by someone who didn't have a clue about what information is needed for scratchbuilding.  I got all the WWI packs, but all of them seem to be on the web.

The plans may not be much use to a model maker... but from what I've seen of them in the Haynes manual on the Mk IV... they are invaluable to anybody researching and considering the construction of a large scale replica.

The hull of the tank is actually the easy part.... its the rollers, drive sprockets, idlers and tracks that are actually the challenge.

Unfortunately I have yet to receive a response from Bovington....
