Dear all,
since I am aware of the existance of this medal (since 1992) I was looking for it. Never seen one, but now I found one.
But .... I only know it was made for the 70th anniversary of the battle of Berry au bac and the first engagement of the Char Schneider.
My medal is stamped with the number 147 at the edge.
Does anyone know more about this medal? How many were made? Who received it or was it possible for erveryone to buy it?
Thanks in advance for every information.
Kind Regards
Chris
Bonjour Chris,
This medal was produced by Pichard-Balme (factory in Saumur) for Saumur's tank Museum.
Models with a serial number were given to authorities and the others sold in museum shop.
I am waiting for answers about numbers of medals.
For instance, Pichard-Balme is in holidays.
Bon week-end - Michel
235 medals were produced. Number of numbered medals unknown.
Could you done a medal"s edge photo, with markings and number ?
My contact don't know if this number was done by Pichard-Balme or after . . .
This medal's command was not done by Saumur's Museum but by U.N.A.B.C.C.
(Union Nationale de l'Arme Blindée et des Chars de Combat)
A suivre - Michel
