This is wildly off-topic, but I hope you will tolerate it.

When we have been to the Western Front, we have stayed with a remarkable couple. Indescribably hospitable. They are utterly charming, and treat you like a member of the family. (It happens that Alain went to school with President Macron.) They take us on days and evenings out, invite us to share their meals . . . endless. I don't know how they make a profit. And it's not just us - if you read Tripadvisor, they are like that with everyone. They also took us to their local on Saturday night for karaoke, where I trod on Corinne's toes a number of times.

Vaux-en-Amiénois, you will be aware, was the temporary resting place of A7V Mephisto in 1918.

Then one day in 2021, while working on his farm, Corinne's son came across something in the soil. He showed it to his mother, and this is what happened next:

The message on Facebook caught the eye of Arnaud Dola, and it turned out that the owner of the medal was his wife's grandfather.

This is Monsieur Dola. Notice where he is from:

I like things like that . . .
