It is with great pleasure and satisfaction to announce the forthcoming release of World War One Special 1015 “Kraftwagen-Flak”! It is a completely fresh approach on the subject, with plentiful new information and “eye-candy” photographs, most of which hitherto unpublished. It also corrects previous mistake-ridden sources and for the very first time offers a truly comprehensive and in-depth research on the topic.
The title was announced in December 2023, and I am truly sorry that it took one and a half years to be able to release it. The reason behind is no secret: the specialised book sales worldwide have dropped significantly and we required that timeframe to financially break even with the book’s predecessor (1014 Artillerie-Zugmaschinen). Yes, that small is the interest in WW1 German vehicles these days! Why do I tell you this? Actually, to soften the path for a 40% price increase for Special 1015. There is no other way around or there simply will be no more titles in Series 1000.
More details on 1015 “Kraftwagen-Flak” will be on our website mid-September, with the release date early October 2025. Subscribe to our free online newsletter on our website to stay tuned.
As a Landships special treat, here is, exclusively, the blurb and the table of contents for any interested fan to indulge:
With the outbreak of World War One, Imperial Germany had been engaging with army motorisation for almost 15 years. Yet on the matter of specialised tactical military vehicles, no final design or even production had ensued. Therefore, Germany entered the war with a fleet of rear-wheel-drive civilian trucks, cars and motorcycles, with very few of them even partially militarised. There was one vital exception: for motorised anti-aircraft artillery, the crucial need for a specially designed all-wheel-drive carrier vehicle had been identified at an early stage.
This publication deals in depth with, for the first time ever, the Kraftwagen-Flak motor vehicle-based anti-balloon and anti-aircraft artillery of the Kaiserreich. Lavishly illustrated with contemporary photographs, this book tells the story from pre-war prototypes through to active service during the war years, and even into the post-war Freikorps and Reichswehr periods. Additional chapters cover Kraftwagen-Zugflak motor vehicle-towed trailer-mounted and Raupenflak tracked carrier-mounted anti-aircraft artillery.
In 96 pages this publication is lavishly illustrated with 222 photographs, the vast majority of which have never been published before. Limited Edition 999 copies.
