I tried to respond to a question about Schneider kits at the missing-lynx forum, but that did not work... BUT in case anyone is interested in building one I found a good scratchbuilding article, with plans at the link below. In French, but easy enough to puzzle out with High School French and babelfish. It took me some digging on the internet to find the page, so hopefully this will save some folks some time. Andrew Schneider page
Very nice drawings and plans for a scratch build. Thanks for posting them!
I really like the design of the CA1 and have been tempted to buy the Commander Model resin kit in 1:35. For the past two years or so a rumour has circulated that Emhar would release a 1:35 kit. That would be my biggest concern if I jumped to scratch build the Schneider - to have it released by Emhar just after had finished mine!
Any of you with more knowledge on Emhar's plans? The Mk. V was eagerly awaited several years as well wasn't it?
The Emhar 1/35 Schneider appears in a catalogue as "due for release 2006", but a scratch build is really much more enjoyable, isn't it? The front is as Peter says, but those drawings solve most of the problems of geometry, so why wait, Claus. You can do it!
Thanks for the compliment. No, I haven't considered making models professionaly. I will retire in a few years, but until then, I have plenty to do.
For what it's worth, the pics are of my card models. I painted the exposed edges of the card pieces to hide them a bit. I also made the later hull version with external fuel tanks on the rear. (pics attached)
