What a curious machine. Strange how they've got a set of tracks operating between two sets of large wheels. Notice how the tracks appear to be powered by bevel gears running off the rear wheels. Very, very strange...
The vehicle appears to be based on the Austro Daimler Zugwagen M12 - Normally a 4x4 with a 6 cylinder 100bhp (at 800 RPM) used by both KuK and German armies to lug heavy mortars around. It had four transmission shafts , one for each wheel. I think there was some form of differential drive and braking on the rear wheels so that driving tracks from the rear wheels would transfer this to the tracks and improve steering. It would be interesting to know if the tracked version saw service.
