British Tank Track Spuds
Permalink

Can anyone describe how they've gone about making the British tank track spuds commonly seen? The Matador tracks with spuds are out of stock and won't be available again until July so going to make my own spuds out of plasticard to attach to the Airfix tank tracks - if anyone has a drawing of the general arrangement of the spuds with sizes it'd be much appreciated

When I saw this, I whapped out a schematic I just drew of one (Both views). It could probably be made from layers of plasticard of a different thickness.
Oh, and it was one spud per six tracks, as shown here.biggrin

P.S, These are spuds, not track grousers, which are commonly mistaken for spuds.

Rob, if you follow the link in this posting from Hans:
http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?aBID=63528&p=3&topicID=32375748

there are many photos that Hans has posted of how he made all the grousers for his tanks.

Cheers - turns out I actually meant 'Grousers' then! I'll do my best to copy Hans' idea, the next few weeks are just going to fly by.....

On the plus side, i'm looking forward to making a batch of Arras Mk II's
