Couldn't find the previous topic on this new release, but thought it worthy of starting a new one - received the WD Models Austin a/c in the post a few days ago as well as some other bits and had to give a short preview of it before I start building whenever I actually get the chance.
The kit can be completed as the normal 3rd Series which was used by the British in 1918, especially at Amiens, or the post-war variant used in India with solid tyres, disc wheels and Vickers machine guns, or also the Finnish version. It's the first kit I know of of the 3rd series and really is superb - as well as having decent instructions and transfers unlike most manufacturers, it captures the look of the vehicle brilliantly, and the mixed-media construction of metal for the chassis, wheels, fittings etc and resin for the main body and turrets should make it a strong model too. I'll post a proper review as I start building it, current plan is for a 1918 British model with khaki lower and blue for the top half

I'm sure you are correct, MTorrent. I have made enquiries at Armorama, OnTheWay, Internet Modeler, The Miniatures Page, Missing Lynx and a few others, and no-one seems to have noticed W^D Models. I find that a bit of a shock, really, as those sites set themselves up as the bringers of modelmaking news. I have my own theories as to why they would overlook W^D (and Gunthwaite Miniatures, Retrokits, Solfig and a few others) but naturally the guilty parties would deny everything!
Finally started building mine yesterday - what a beauty, it goes together so well, especially the fitting of the openable armoured visors with the resin body - you can position them open very easy, especially the cab door, which has the interior opening lever. Really looking forward to finishing it off next time I get the chance
I must confess that I messed up the front axle of my kit... There´s quite a casting block to be cut out, which is best done with a saw. Otherwise it´s a top quality kit. Reviresco has issued a model of the Austin 3 as well, but that´s more suitable for wargaming.
