On the Forum in 2008 there were a series of articles on the above narrow gauge diesel in 1:35 scale by Claus Nielson. I was hoping someone could help me contacting him. The reason is the Japanese firm of Kato have brought out a tram loco in N gauge, the motorised bogies would be ideal for a kit of the locotracteur but I am getting great difficulty in getting any scale drawings. I would like to include this in the W^D range, also it would be a great excuse for some seated French figures !!!!
Many thanks

Probably!!! biggrin

I have messaged him on flickr. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner; sorry, mate.

Hope you get somewhere with this project. And while you are at it, maybe you could make a Tin Turtle, and a Ford Model T converted to run on NG.

The Tin Turtle is already available from Meridian Models if any one wants details then let me know. The Kato chassis is so small the wheelbase is too small for the Crewe tractor (Model T Ford) but most pics show the Tractor hauling a wagon with a shell load the Kato motor bogie would fit under this wagon !!!!!!! I am toying with this idea. Have just had the masters for the B type Bus/GS lorry and it is good,so I may ask Ian to do the Crewe Tractor next. Any thoughts ?????

I can't see the Tin Turtle in his range, but I can see the unprotected Simplex 20hp, and, "Yikes!", £75 ($120) for something as big as my thumbnail:

"No way Jose!"

W^D Models could do much, much, much better!

Meridian haven't got a website, but if you google Parkside Dundas they carry the range also they have some 1 War rollingstock the D,E and an ambulance wagon.
Concerning the Simplex Meridian do the protected and the armoured version (I think parts for both are in the same kit) there is a chassis available from the Nigel Lawton site.Meridian also do 2 types of American wagons called Pershings.
Here endeth the leson !!!!!

One comment regarding the Crewe Tractor -make sure it's the 1917 onwards Ford model T with the more simple radiator, at least one manufacturer has used the earlier brass radiator
