That's a pirate scan of the AJ Press book on the St Chamond and Schneider CA 1. The original book is one of the best around on the French heavy tanks. The colour profiles of the tanks are very good. Aside from the legal/moral issues about pirate copies I doubt whether scans would be able to render the colour plates accurately.
I'm surprised AJ Press hasn't exercised their DMCA rights to get it taken down.
"Sometimes things that are not true are included in Wikipedia. While at first glance that may appear like a very great problem for Wikipedia, in reality is it not. In fact, it's a good thing." - Wikipedia.
If Peter Kempf were still around we could get rid of the pirated Landships material on Patriot Files via DMCA. Unfortunately we aren't the copyright owners of the pirated material.
Individual authors might be able to put a case - but without Peter I guess it would make for an unusual case (also first publication date might become an issue requiring some authoritative record to resolve). But the author retains (at least) the moral right to be identified as the author, even in commercial transactions and with no regard at all to the passage of time.
Not sure how that fits in with Digital Rights but figure it must be a "black mark" at least against any transgressor - and the more so if it might be reasonably inferred that the publisher purports to be the author by withholding or actually deleting specific authorship information. I think that could be taken as an attempt to subvert DR (and that might have a bearing, depending on the diligence of the host). In any event, I certainly wouldn't want to be the one trying to argue against that contention.
