W. A. Productions - Can You Help?

Does anybody know how to contact this company? Do they even exist, or are they like unicorns? Should they be expunged from lists?

They are mentioned a couple of times in the Kit List on Landships 1, and on the On The Way site:

http://www.onthewaymodels.com/kitlists/waproductions.htm

Perhaps if you don't know how to contact them (address, email, fax), you might know Christoph Fehr, who provided the one and only review on that page, and he might know how to contact them.

Or, maybe, you know where the kits can be purchased?

TIA

According to http://www.mafva.net/ (2008 data) they are contacted through:

Actramac-Diffusion
31-33 Rue Esquirol
PARIS F-75013
FRANCE
Telephone 45 82 28 82

... and they do conversion kits. I think that is not a current French telephone number, it is missing the initial element.

The phone number I see for Actramac-Diffusion is

01 70 52 71 72
or 33 1 70 52 71 72 external to France.

I haven't checked any further.

Thanks, Rectalgia.

I tried to follow up "Actramac Diffusion" (Actramac Distribution, in English) but didn't get far. I could only find business entry style websites, not Actramac's own site. Consequently I couldn't see any W. A. Productions models for sale.

There was definitely a language barrier for me, but the sites I found seemed to be bogus, in the way that "about.com" is just a time-wasting, bogus copy of Wikipedia (or whatever else they choose to mimic) without any content of its own (patriotfiles falls into that category as well, but with added racism). Or perhaps Actramac is the equivalent of Pocketbond; distributing products without actually being involved in the design, production or current availablility.

Anyway, that was fantastic information, Rectalgia, but I'm not entirely convinced it is still possible to buy W. A. Productions model kits.

(If anyone is wondering why I'm interested, it's because I am re-writing the list of available 1/72 1/76 tank kits, and allegedly, W A Productions make/made a Fiat 2000, as well as other kits of great interest to us WWI modelers)

Hi PDA in that case probarbly its best to include it even if the info isnt up to date(but a note indicating that may help) as its possible such kits could still be available somewhere even if no longer produced and it gives a starting point for a seach....

* indicates An old contact address or kit manufacturer, possibly no longer in production etc

I dont believe Ive ever heard of this firm its a new one on me..... withan interesting list of kits too....

Haven´t heard of WA Productions either, but for the kit list you could add the following by Giesbers / Den Bels Models:
- Austin series 2
- Poplavko Jeffery
- Fiat 2000 (coming very soon; decals already done)
- Canadian Autocar (master being made)

Michel.

Thanks, Michel.

I will certainly include those on the armoured car list, when I get there (except the tank, of course). At the moment I am going very slowly through the lists, correlating and updating the information. As the header says, it is a list of what is available, so I'm checking that they are all available. Also, on L2 it can be updated swiftly, as new kits are released.

You'd be surprised at how many links to nowhere there are. Computer-people probably have a term for that, maybe "wandering link syndrome"?

It turns out, I'm quite a nerd, so I'm enjoying it a lot.

"Link rot" is the term you're after I think.

Running through the stock of webshops like Tracks & Troops gives a good idea of what's available on the market.

Thank you, serge69.

I found it really difficult to tell if Actramac were still open or not.
