In the last week, several artillery pieces and anti-tank guns from my collection were recorded by Skywalker Sound firing live and blank.These sounds will be used for a new Spielberg film.I have been asked not to mention the name of the film until it comes out, however, I can say it is set in the WW1 Era and focuses largely on horses in military service.

Watching the videos and hearing the firing as "experienced" by a standard camera-mounted electret microphone (flat and clipped) makes one appreciative of the work of the sound technicians, eh?
