i know this question is asked alot, but i can not get a handle on "feldgrau", the colour of the German army 1915 bluse. Is it grey, light/dark ?, or grey-green?. I am hoping to do some 1/72 scale after a period of 30 years!!, I am now 53 and i want to get it right as I want to make dioramas which state incidents which happened.
Windrow and Green's excellent, and mightily useful, "World War One Infantry" states that the 1915 bluse was darker and greener than the 1914 version. Their photographs (pg 19) are spot-on (there is a fine example in the "La Targette" museum (Neuville St Vaast, near Arras) that is the same colour (maybe slightly darker)). This is a colour you'll have to mix yourself, which is simple enough: just add some very dark green to Humbrol's field grey (I think the ref no. is 111, but don't take that as gospel) and you'll be there. I'll try and find out how to put photos onto this forum so you can see my efforts with a Gerry figure from the same period. I did my very best to get the tunic colour right, and was happy with the results.
Re photos, it seems I need a URL, which I don't have as I can't be bothered with image hosting websites. If you send me a private message with your e-mail address, I'll send you a couple of photos of the 1915 German.
You can put photos in here in one of two ways; the URL method you have already discovered, or you can click "attach file(s)" when you are composing your reply, and upload the photo from your computer.
The "attach file(s)" button is just below the "show preview" button.

Well, if this also helps, Many of you may remember I started out with a bag full of TESTORS car model paints, before I found out the common median is Humbrol paints. Now, this list is still being reworked all the time, and it as yet does not include my regs for stormtroopers, but here is my personal painting guide on how I plan to paint my infantry, (Both early and late war) various weapons, Artillery and Cavalry.
Soldiers Field Grey Slate Grey #31 Hat Bands, Piping Insignia Red #153 Buttons Insignia Yellow #154 Leather Equipment: Belts, Boots, Y Straps, & Equipment Straps - Leather # 62 Canteens Matt Brown # 186 & Steel Grey #87 Pickelhaubes- Matt Black #33 & Insignia Yellow #153 Stahlhelms , Grenade Heads , & Grenade Bags-Matt Olive Drab #155 Messkits, Light Machine Gun Barrels & Heavy Machine Guns - Matt Black #33 BreadBags- Matt Brown # 186 Leggings, Cloth Bandoliers, & Helmet Covers - Matt Light Grey # 64 Flesh- Matt Cream # 103

Cavalry Dragoons- As with infantry Horses Matt Light Grey # 147 & Matt White# 34 Uhlans- As with infantry Tschapka same as Pickelhaube Horses- Matt Black # 33 & Matt White # 34 Kuriassers As with infantry Curiasses & Helmets Matt Light Grey #64 (I'm still debating this, as historic evidence shows curiasses were not battle issue, (however there is the legendary account of the Garde Kurriassers that rode to their death at Passchendale in full parade uniform) Horses- Matt Desert Yellow # 93 & Matt White # 34 Swords- Matt Black #33 & Steel Grey #87
All vehicles and Artillery I have done thus far wear a field grey shade of the ever so suggested Humbrol Slate Grey 31. Giving a 'Just off the assembly line' appearance. I personally despise dapple camo, but that's just me. but I plan to do a pair of LK-IIs in Lozenge camo.
Hope this helps. P.S Suggestions to improve this list are welcome!
Greetings, Josh

Sorry I took a while to answer this; I hadn't looked at the discussion for some time. No, it's by Metal Modeles. They do a decent range of Gt War figures in 54mm and this is one of them. See Historex's website: JMD do some good ones, too, in 65mm, as do Hecker & Goros (good for Jerries, in 1/32nd).
