This is new one on me not really a machine gun but a battery type weapon that was used to some effect by the Danes in the 19th century....

Excellent - a neglected aspect of firearms development Ivor, I hadn't heard of mister Schumacher nor of his "magazine barrel" invention before. Yes, the wheel is continually being reinvented in that business - "cartridgeless" or consumable cartridge ammunition (independently of the multi-charge barrel concept) being another instance. The Heckler & Kotch G11 of 1989 being perhaps the best known of the modern, viable, incarnations of that type.
