Someone mocked up a box top of a Tamiya 1/35 Schneider (or was it a St Chamond?) and put it on the net a few years back. It was really well done, and looked the real deal, and I for one was very disappointed it wasn't!! I remember thinking, what cruelty to raise such hopes ... or was it to encourage them to make one?

At least this is rather more obviously tongue in cheek!

Having said that, I have a possible sop to offer. Fine Molds are doing a Type 41 Mountain Gun in November, in two variations, in 1/35. I have not looked into it in detail to see the dates applicable to the kit variants, but the basic design went into service in 1908 and is said to be a licence built copuy of the Krupp M.08, so perhaps this may be worth looking into?
