This is my first post on the forum - although Barry of WD Models has kindly posted photos of my recently completed versions of his excellent kits.
I am getting ready to prime and paint Panzershop's 1/35th scale Mark B. I have read several references that state the tank was painted Khaki Brown. However, Osprey's New Vanguard 83, Armored Units of the Russian Civil War, White and Allied, has a plate where the Mark B is painted Khaki Green. I would be grateful to hear what others think about what color I should use. Leaning towards green as I have other brown vehicles planned and in progress.
How about white over green? A thin coat of white so that the green underneath shows through.
The Soviets also used a camouflage consisting of two different greens. There are no photos showing this on a Medium B, but I'd say it is at least possible it was done.
Thanks for your comments! I will go with the green scheme as depicted in the New Vanguard I referenced. Photo attached.
PDA - I really like the two tone green camo used by the Soviets on Mark V tanks. I plan on doing one of those using the 1/35th Interus Mark V Composite kit.
Hi Rob, Be careful with the Interus kit as I've heard the tracks are wrong, halfway between the two sizes found on Mk V's ? What are the Panzershop kits like to work with Paul

Thanks for the tip about the tracks. When I opened the box I thought they looked "suspicious"! I plan on buying the 26.5 inch set from Panzershop.
Panzershop kits are really good. Better than Commanders by quite a bit - but not nearly as nice as Resicast or Accurate Armour. However, they are ALOT of work. Most of their WW1 kits are made up of flat resin plates that need to be assembled. And being flat means that they are usually warped. What I do is glue them to pieces of wood or MDF (medium density fiberboard) that I cut to the correct thickness and shape. It firms up the pieces and get's everything perfectly flat and square. I am attaching two photos of their Mark II Female that is nearing completion.
