I say, have a care! John Cleese's character might have momentarily monopolized the name but the military Darling was an impotant personage hereabouts. Granted, he was a General and a Governor when he authorised the explorations that lead in time to the establishment of the Swan River Settlement (and gave his name to the Darling Scarp, to the face of which I cling even now, as I tap away on this polemic) but he was a Captain once, as was his sturdy forebear or progenitor, neither being notably pregnant at any time, if I comprehend the process correctly.
