Metal barrels and aftermarkets
Permalink

Hi, I'm new in the forum and in the world of WWI modelling.

Would anybody so kind to tell me if any manufacturer produce metal barrels for WWI models? (I'm afraid the answer will be no)

I have the Emhar kit for Mk IV male and the barrels are horrible.

And any other kind of aftermarkets  (photoetched parts, machine guns, fuel cans, etc...)?

Regards

Hi

You could try http://www.wdmodels.com/ for accessories such as fuel cans, boxes, barbed wire etc.  For machine guns, there are any number of plastic figure sets containing vickers or spandau, of varying quality.  For high quality (and cost) there are the mini-world guns, or you could try aircraft accessories in etched brass, for example Tom's Modelworks do a few sets which are very detailed but equally fiddly.

That's correct. There are some 57mm barrels, but they are for different (WW2) guns.
