Emhar's owner deceased

Pocketbond and Emhar owner Phillip Brook died last week.

(Links was temporarily not available last time I checked.)

His widow will now decide what to do with the business.

From Mr. Brook's CV it becomes obvious what a loss for the hobby his death is. Regards, Pat

My first ever model competition entry was a Diorama that featured an Emhar MkIV Male along with some figures, it was awarded Gold and Best in Class. Many Thanks Mr Brook RIP

Very sad news. I can remember meeting him a few times at toy fairs, a great loss to the trade.

A great shame - without him WW1 modelling would be very, very much poorer

It's fascinating how stuff like that depends on individuals. Until recently, I haven't associated with models with anyone having work designing, manufacturing and packaging them, let alone with individuals running a company.

Most model companies are not run by large and uncaring mulinationals as most modellers would seem to believe but by people who go into the business for the love of the hobby and to pursue an interest they share with others.  They don't in the majority of cases gain huge financial reward from it but do it for the satisfaction of seeing something created and built and hopefully enjoyed by others and to share that interest and fascination with modelling.

I think perhaps people need to remember that sometimes.

Mike
