1. Jadar Hobby has them listed as "in stock".

2. There are photos of the sprues and parts on Armorama, here.

It looks like a little gem. How long before one's modelled with its doors open & scratch-built interior? (Some looney will do it!)

I see that they are available (from Poland) on a certain well know auction site at £12.99 ea plus £3.00 p&p. I shall wait for a UK retailer I think.

I just bought them in Moscow for 350 Rubls. Its about 6.5 pounds. The only thing that lower part of the body is bent in three dimensions. I don't know what to do with them now. nono

It'll probably be fine when you glue the track frames and upper body shell together.

I think it happens when they're taken out of the mould to quick. Cut it from the sprue and put it in some boiling water. This will get it hot enough to bend, but not to hot to do damage. It may spring back to it's original shape on its own, although if it was demoulded to soon, then you will have to straighten it while hot and then let it cool in the correct shape.

Hope that works.

Think yourself lucky, not had mine yet. no

Thanks Helen. I bend it in the opposite direction and glue it part by part. It looks not so bad at the moment. This is happens not just with me but with other folks in Moscow also. Now the question is the decals. I new that Black Lion make some. But I do not like the quality. Does any one make them better?

Thanks for all your help.

It was nice to see at the bottom see attached.

Anton.

My couple arrived today. I opened them with some trepidation after ZigZag's comments here. Happy to say that my two are not warped. A thing of beauty!

@ZigZag - Decalcomaniacs make decals for the Mark I, but I think they are the same as Black Lion Decals.

I'm glad to hear the models are being well received and not all have warping issues.

The mention of Landships I felt was necessary, as it was this site that gave me the encouragement to keep going xxx

But, IIMSS, pity that it seems to be in American English. Doesn't seem right, somehow . . .

I've just received a male and female Mk I. Only had time for a cursory look at the sprues which revealed warped bottom plates, though I can't see this being a problem. I'm pleased with the quality of the mouldings. The only negative comments are that I would have liked to see separate hatches and sponson doors and injected links for the tracks rather than the one piece vinyl? bands. It's a tedious job nicking the edges of the tracks with a new scalpel blade to make the links look separate. I'll definitely be buying more. There's a great opportunity for someone to produce after market track links here.

Would the Matador ones be any good?

The Matador ones are slightly too small for 1/72. I've used them on Emhar kits and they are just not quite wide enough. I haven't used the Modelltrans ones, but they say they are 1/72, so they should be wide enough.

Hi, I have some measurements for a few after market track if they are of interest:

MATADOR GWE-03 tracks for Mk1-IV. 7mm wide in Resin

MrX - from his Mk1 6.7 mm wide in Resin

Model Trans for MkV 9.1 mm wide in White Metal

My experience with Model Trans was - a fairly long wait but nothing compared to MATADOR models it has felt like a life time!!

Hi,

I have taken some time to have a closer look at the two Tanks Mk1 models I have from Masterbox.  Following comments elsewhere I have checked, more carefully, the moulds and mine, too, have some twisting.  The two parts are the floor and the roof, however the twists will compensate for one another when built.

Overall the parts are finer than their 'Airfix' equivalents, the sponsons have rivet and reinforcement details on all surfaces (the 'male' sponsons have the angle iron reinforcement at the correct angle).  I don't doubt that one of the better qualified kit reviewers will do something in depth in due course.  For me, I would say that this is a better model than Mr X's equivalent which seems to have similarities to the EMHAR Mk 4 and Airfix Mk 2-ish.

So, here are some photos for comparison:

(Don't know if this has been attached but the first shows, from L to R

Airfix,  Mr X,  Masterbox,  EMHAR

The second photo shows the 'grenade cover'  on the left is my interpretation (note the method of mounting) and on the right the skeleton from Masterbox (the diagonals are removed before fitting the etch).  I have to say I was very happy to see that my interpretation and that of Masterbox are very similar in size - neither owe anything to the dreadful thing on the Mk1 at Bovvy which is wrong in so many ways.  The sharp eyed amongst you will note I have failed to fit the vertical braces at front and rear - I've only realised this now and will sort.  The method of mounting the Masterbox version seems, simply, to rest the cover directly on the cab and a small extension on the rear.  From the photos I have studied my method appears correct.  Below these are:  My Airfix steering tail, Mr X and finally Masterbox.

The final photo tries to show my mounting method and compares my 'chicken wire' with the etched version.
