It is passable, but the ones made by Fine Scale Factory and JMGT are MUCH better!

Yes I have built the st chammond and the schneider. Both  go together easily and are very good models ( i am a wargamer not a micrometer fuss pot).

Buy them and enjoy.

I am having no luck tracking down JMGT or FSF kits.

So here's one from Reviresco on the 1/72 & 1/76 Scale AFV Museum

Does anyone have a source for the FSF St Chamond? I don't really fancy the task of adding rivets to Reviresco's kit, even though the Archer surface detail decals help a great deal.

Or, does anyone have any scaled plans?

Hi PDA as far as im aware FSF is no longer in business and the tank line no longer produced although I did hear a rumour about CW toys obtaining some of the moulds but cant see anything on their site..... so if you find one snap it upwink

Thanks Ironsides. Yes, my investigations led me to CW Toys as well, and the trail goes cold there, for me as well.

During my brief investigation I read some comments:

about the JMGT kit: It is/was fragile and complicated and difficult to put together.

about FSF: mid-priced, assembled well, good detail.

Reviresco: heavy metal, difficult to get parts to fit together well, no rivets.

However, a big, big plus for Reviresco is that it is the only one available! And for Europeans the exchange rate is favourable currently. And not everyone said it was hard to get parts to fit. It looks good when painted, if you don't mind there being no rivets at all (I don't want to count them, but I would like to see some. If they were on the original, they should be on the kit).

With some plans we might have a case to present to Armourfast!

Hold on to your horses; one of my close contacts in the resin world recently showed me his master of the St Chamond. I'm hoping he's finishing it still this year and it will certainly end up in my webstore. It'll be far better than the Reviresco model!

Michel.

Addition: just found out that I can mention it's Modelltrans who will issue a St Chamond 1st series. Next to that, they're also planning to issue Mk IV tracks!!

Excellent news, Michel.

In any scale this will be great, although I would prefer it in 1/72.

Can they also make a proper rear end to correct the Emhar kits and convert the Airfix kits. None of the kits or conversion bits have the correct armour on the back, like Lodestar III or Deborah do.

It looks like the JMGT St Chamonds (and their Schneider CAs) are available, for 35 euros, here: http://www.jmgt.fr/

The price compares with Reviresco's 30 dollar St Chamonds here: http://www.tin-soldier.com/sg/stch.htm

Welcome scala72 to the forum, I see MarkIV Tadpole, MarkIV track, and MarkV are listed.

Should be popular with the braille-scalers! Maybe not the Tadpole so much.

Hi,

I am not very fluent in English. What do you mean: braille-scalers?

(in-box: St. Chamond 1.s)

I'm not sure of the true definition of Braille-scale, but I believe its models of 1/72 or smaller,  I'm not sure how it came about.

Usually done by modellers with younger eyes than mine. wink

Thanks for the look in the box, nice job.
