Be aware that the German 15cm lg.s.F.H. 1913/02 photo listed on this French online auction is both incorrectly listed as an original photo and is stolen from the Lovett Artillery web site. The photo is of Leon and Ralph Lovett with our restored 15cm taken back in the 1990s not the 1910s:
Those interested in using photos from my collection for research and articles are welcome, so long as a request is made and the photo is referenced and above all not listed for sale as an original.
Thanks Ralph - supposedly glass plate masters (tirage de photos plaques de verre) but in colour, rare and valuable for the era. Clearly a total scam, they must be incapable of delivering anything remotely resembling the described items - worse than plagiarism, outright criminality.
He has hundreds of these things for sale i see. Some images very interesting, but i expect those are ripped off as well. Surely at the sale price he cant be manufacturing replica glass plates, but just selling prints, or have i got the wrong end of the stick entirely?
Not just a photo from your web site, but "the" index photo of you and Leon? Once in a while I will see a Pickelhaube or whatever that is sitting in my Imperial room, being offered for sale in France or somewhere on ebay. One of my RFC maternity tunics was up to $2900 on UK ebay by the time ebay finally believed me that it was in my house here in Canada and closed the auction. Very frustrating.

Thanks for the responses. As Tony has mentioned, the photo is the one I use as my index photo for the web site and my avatar for this forum.
A good friend with much better French language skills than me has made a statement to the customer service department of this auction site.So far no response from them.
At least he has taste Ralph (he has some of my pictures too)
I came across this guy months ago, before I realised what was going on I thought I had hit the motherlode in terms of photographs from the Great War.
His modus operandi appears to be to pilfer the images from various websites, including many of the preview pictures on Delcampe and Ebay, he then crops or alters them to remove the watermarks or other identifying features, then shamelessly offers them for sale. A complete bounder.
By the way, from past experience, don't hold your breath waiting for a response from Delcampe.
You may have to go to a higher authority than the auction site. If Delcampe is hosted on an ISP then an infringement notice on the ISP will usually have the desired effect. Otherwise there will be a French Web copyright organisation which has to take notice of copyright infringements within the EU. Will take a bit of digging to find either the ISP or the French copyright org but they are required to act under EU law (it's similar to DMCA in the US).
Edit - Charlie beat me to it with his lookup - but if we're talking about the HOST:
delcampe.fr website has internet addresses 82.146.118.130 (taz.delcampe.net) and 82.146.118.136 (taz2.delcampe.net) - Network name is XS4ALL Belgium NV, hosted through EVONET Belgium NOC (Network Operations Centre, EVONET Belgium NV, of Merelbeke BE). Contacts: e-mail: netmaster [at] evonet.be org: ronny.verley [at] evonet.be abuse-mailbox: abuse [at] evonet.be
In terms of Charlie's comments, those are the guys doing the primary hosting and with responsibility for the hosted content. The legal entity behind the website would be the registrant (at first approximation), with the registrar (presumably) having some responsibilities.
Domain registrant is Sebastien Delcampe (of Soignies FR) sebastien [at] delcampe.com Registrar is E-Zone SAS (of Paris FR) - info [at] e-zone.fr
I still think this is more fraud (a police matter) than it is plagiarism but I guess the latter is the easier to demonstrate and to seek remedial action since it is the actual victim of the plagiarism making the complaint/assertion - though on an image-by-image basis it is not so easy at all.
[Further edit - taking the liberty of lightly munging that email address Charlie]
