Anybody else take notice of this?

tracks-n-troops.com should be responding, checking with http://just-ping.com/ (checks server response from 50 locations around the world) and then using the link at the bottom of the results page (complimentary http://www.watchmouse.com/en/checkit.php session which checks web-page loading from 10 locations). Ditto, united-fun.com is responding fine.

I'm no authority, just another user (albeit with some limited moderation access) but would recommend in such cases:

  • first step is to try, like above, connection through a remote service in case it is just your connection
  • second step, if seems it is only your connection not getting through is to contact your internet service provider in case there are routing or IP blocking or nameserver issues with your network (which are your ISP's responsibity) OR
  • second step, if remote connections are not working either, is to advise the webmaster for the domain. I would use http://centralops.net/co/DomainDossier.aspx to get/confirm that address (network whois record - if nothing specific found try <webmaster[at]tracks-n-troops.com> - change [at] to @, that is a mandated address for any/all web domains, though some don't have it) - you can check that the domain has not expired (domain whois record) and initiate a traceroute and a service scan (look for HTTP - 80) at the same time.

Are you still having trouble?  It should be good now - all websites have occasional downtime for any number of reasons and networks too, to a lesser extent (hopefully).  If you were trying unted-fun.com (as posted) instead of united-fun.com that would be one reason "can't find the server at www.unted-fun.com" and usually with the advice to check your spelling - the actual messages seen are important clues.

Bottom line - I don't think it would be much use prevailing on "our administrators" for help.  But, the positive part, "we're all in this together" as the next level of support.

Regards,

Steve

So I was putting together another list for the strengthing of my Korps, and I noticed the following.

-Tracks-n-troops website is down.

-Also, Anybody know if the owner of unted-fun.com is out of town or something?

If anyone else has tried to do some ordering lately, and also noticed these things, then lets get our administrators to help

Greetings, Josh

Tracks and Troops is very much alive and well, and has had no interruption of service whatsoever. You just have to look in the right place:

Tracks and Troops

Tracks and Troops is in the Czech Republic and has been for several years now.

Oh ok I see I was typing in tracks-n-troops.com

Also I wondering since I am trying to contact united-fun.com via a newly launched yahoo mail account, is it possible that certain email addresses aren't recognized? I've contacted it before with my old gmail, but since decommissioned it. is it possible I may have to use my other gmail to contact certain model stores?

Greetings, Josh

Dunno Josh - I do know that when creating accounts some services don't accept certain "legal" characters as defined in the relevant RFCs - Yahoo doesn't/didn't like the dash "-" but is perfectly happy with the underscore "_" in an account name (which is much less convenient when the whole address is underscored in a link since it then effectively disappears - but that is, or was, the way of it). Whether or not they accept(ed) it in an address to send to is another matter. If I recall correctly, Hotmail is/was the other way around - liked the dash but not the underscore but perhaps my memory is playing tricks (well, Hotmail supports the dash when Yahoo doesn't/didn't, I know that much).

So, a direct answer to your proposition - a definite maybe :)
