One of my entries in the "The Other Guys Group Build" which, by the way, started a few days ago.
Wikipedia has this to say about the Renault AX, "The Renault AX was an automobile manufactured by Renault. It was produced between 1908 to 1914 and was mostly used by cab drivers."
So I thought it would be reasonable to assume that at least one was used to drive officers around to do whatever it is officers do.
The "kit" is from Scale Link and is said to be 1/76 and OO scale.
HaT, 8161, WW1 French 75mm Cannon (with Late War crew).
At the moment, my thinking is that he will not be in the scene when it's finished. I am looking around for someone else to use. I don't think a driver would have his gas mask bag on his chest, and he doesn't look bored enough (I think he would be bored waiting for the General to stop waffling on).
There is not much room on the seat beside him, but there is more than you'd think from this photo. Part of the problem is the vehicle is 1/76 and the figure is 1/72. But I think that even if they both were 1/72 there would still be a problem. Compare 1/72 pilots in aircraft kits with other 1/72 figures and you'll see what I mean.
The General will be having a jolly chat with some junior officer, while their dogs get to know each other. The driver will be having a crafty cigarette.
Well, French taxis played an emblematic part in the Miracle of the Marne, how many men avec les équipements could be squeezed into one of those things (for a REAL challenge)?
