I dont think any other French gun has the wheel anchor arrangement other then the M1897 and this is visible in the photo, I would speculate this is either a recaptured WW1 or WW2 Vintage M1897(originally in French service) or one acquired by the Canadian Army for Training purposes during WW2 which means it may be US built. My money is on it being a Recaptured Gun.
I'm pretty certain this pic shows a captured M1897 AA gun at Verdun.... the question is are they using it?
Something for a gunner to say - the (large) crew, emplacement and overhead screening certainly look purposeful to this layman. Looks like it is set up, at the cost of some effort, for a spot of extreme range nuisance shelling.

The last image posted by Ironsides is a 7,7cm lFK L/35 (Franz.) and is in position for air interdiction. Hundreds of Mle1897 field guns were captured and more than 400 were modified for Flak use. I've explained this piece here in the past; if anyone is really interested simply do a search.

Thanks for the clarification I seem to remember a number of pictures of these curiously modified guns and that several hundred were used but could'nt place it... however the gun at Harriston, Ontario is obviously not one of these.
